A life of dancing competitively and professionally, a devastating back injury and eventual Spine Fusion led Bethany to yoga. Practicing yoga made her feel happy, healthy and inspired for the first time after the end of her dance career and it gave her a sense of purpose and direction in life. She loves that yoga has the physical challenge and beauty that she found in dance but also loves the compassion and mindfulness found in yoga, that is not always present in the dance community.
In 2010 she completed an intensive Power Yoga Teacher Training with Corepower Yoga in Denver, Colorado. In 2011 she completed her 200-hour training in the Hot Yoga (Bikram) series, again with Corepower Yoga. Bethany travels quite a bit and has been able to take classes at Bikram studios all over the country. In 2015 she attended a lecture and master class with senior Bikram teacher Lynn Whitlow in Winston-Salem, NC. In 2017 she attended a workshop with Diane Ducharme. Bethany is currently a Yoga Alliance E-RYT 200 and continuing education provider (YACEP).
Bethany's teaching is inspired by the Hot Yoga series. She believes it is a lifelong, life-changing and life-lengthening practice. Since 2013 she has had three children and believes that the experience of practicing through pregnancy and after pregnancy brings a unique perspective to her teaching. Because of her background she is able to relate to many different body types and conditions in the studio. Bethany is passionate about educating people on the benefits of yoga and is constantly inspired by seeing her students transform on the mat.
