There are foundation training courses as well as advanced programs that allow the student to get certified in specific modalities and techniques. Read on to learn more about what to expect when you enroll in yoga teacher training.

About Yoga Teacher Training

Instruction takes place at different levels of intensity, and includes the option for 60 hour immersions, 200 hours or 300 hours of training. Each training modality maintains the traditional approach to yoga, which requires the teacher to understand the philosophical basis of the practice as well as yoga postures and creating sequences. Students can expect to learn how to sequence a class and teach with confidence. Required readings and recommended work are part of each course. As future hot yoga teachers, each student will also be presented with tools and techniques for assisting a classroom in overcoming the most common problems that happen during a hot yoga session.

About The Programs

The Styles Yoga 200-hour course is an effective foundational teacher training program that emphasizes student safety and alignment while honoring traditional practices and beliefs. Students will learn the basics of teaching yoga and will be able to apply compassion to the practice and create an environment that promotes healing.

The Styles Yoga 300-hour module training is available to students who successfully complete 200 hours of previous coursework. This is a supplemental training course that allows students to focus deeply on various aspects of yoga practice. The four modules are shorter in length, and they cover topics like injury prevention, anatomy, Ayurveda, sutras, chakras and advanced muscle lengthening concepts.

The Hot 26 Revolution training program is available in both a foundational 200 hour program as well as an immersion format for already certified teachers. This Bikram yoga program gives students a deep understanding on how to lead a 90 minute hot yoga class confidently. The course focuses on the original technique and philosophy of hot yoga, and will provide information not only about the physical aspects of teaching a class, but the philosophical aspect as well. Learn how to deliver the dialogue and lead a class for all different bodies and levels.

The High Peaks Hot Vinyasa 200 Hour Teacher Training course will enable participants to teach hot yoga classes as well as non-hot yoga. This program requires students to study foundational asanas at an intense level. In addition, the practitioners will learn detailed anatomy, teaching skills, Sanskrit, philosophy and the business aspects of teaching.
